WISH-TV ADDS VETERAN CHIEF METEOROLOGIST

INDIANAPOLIS – May 28, 2025 – Al Carl, VP/News Director, WISH-TV announces the addition of Chief Meteorologist

Keith Gibson to lead Storm Team 8. Gibson is an award-winning Meteorologist with nearly 25 years’ experience in broadcast news including more than 15 years as Chief.

“We are thrilled to welcome Keith to the WISH-TV weather team,” said Carl. “His extensive experience with weather patterns like those in Indiana, combined with his superb use of our weather system’s advanced 3D and virtual reality capabilities will provide Hoosiers with enhanced forecasting and communication. This will improve weather preparedness and safety across the state.”

Gibson comes to News 8 from WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Before that he was Chief Meteorologist for nearly 10 years at WCBI-TV in Columbus, Mississippi. He was also Chief Meteorologist for seven years prior to that at KEVN-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota.

“I have seen my share of horrible weather, including a devastating EF-4 tornado that hit North Mississippi in 2014.” Gibson said. “Being there to protect viewers and digital followers is my priority.”

Gibson started his career at WABG-TV in Greenville, Mississippi after graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree and Mississippi State University with a master’s degree in Geoscience.

Gibson holds the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society. His first day on air with Storm Track 8, will be June 9, 2025.
