INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – August 31, 2026 – DuJuan McCoy, Owner, President, and CEO of Circle City Broadcasting (CCB), parent company of WISH-TV, WRTV-ABC, MyINDY-TV 23, and Circulus Digital Media, today announced the launch of “Make the Switch,” a new viewer rewards campaign encouraging eligible DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, and DIRECTV Stream subscribers to switch to Comcast/Xfinity or Charter/Spectrum.
Beginning Monday, August 31, eligible customers who leave DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, or DIRECTV Stream and switch to Comcast/Xfinity or Charter/Spectrum will receive a free gift from Circle City Broadcasting by providing proof of their new service.
Everybody who makes a qualifying switch wins
The campaign is designed to help viewers reconnect with three Indiana-based, locally owned and operated television stations that have been removed from DIRECTV platforms.
For six years, WISH-TV, Indianapolis’ CW affiliate, has been unavailable to DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, and DIRECTV Stream subscribers, although WISH-TV produces more than 90 hours of local news each week, more than any television station in Indiana, and is one of the highest-rated CW affiliates in the nation.
For six years, MyINDY-TV 23 (WNDY-TV) has also been unavailable on those platforms. WNDY-TV is one of the highest-rated MyNetworkTV stations in the country and airs more than 150 live local sporting events annually.
Most recently, WRTV-ABC was removed from DIRECTV service on August 24, 2026. WRTV viewers have lost access to ABC programming, including ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, Monday Night Football, American Idol, college football, Indianapolis Colts from London on 10/4, the NFL Playoffs, and Super Bowl LXI…to name a few.
Collectively, WISH-TV, WRTV, and MyINDY-TV 23 provide more local news, weather, sports, and local live event coverage than any other group of television stations in the Indianapolis market.
By removing CCB stations from its lineup, DIRECTV has effectively eliminated access to half of Indianapolis’ commercial television stations for its subscribers and is, more than likely, still charging the customer for WRTV although they are not receiving the channel.
“Locally owned and operated television stations like CCB’s are essential to keeping communities informed and connected in a unique way,” said McCoy. “At WISH-TV, WRTV, and MyINDY-TV 23, our focus is serving Central Indiana with local news, weather, sports, and community coverage. If DIRECTV
will not fairly recognize the value of our local focus and quality network programming from CW and ABC, we will encourage viewers to choose providers that do.”
Insider Program
In conjunction with the campaign, Circle City Broadcasting is also launching a new Insider Program, designed to give viewers a greater voice and closer connection to WRTV, WISH-TV, and MyINDY-TV 23.
Viewers can sign up as a WRTV Insider, WISH-TV Insider, or both. Membership is free, including for those who cancel DIRECTV, and includes opportunities to participate in surveys and polls, provide feedback on programming, attend special station experiences, and win exclusive prizes.
The Make the Switch campaign and CCB Insider Program officially launch on Monday, August 31, at 9:00 a.m. ET.
